Scotland U21 Men Ready for EuroHockey Championship II-B Challenge in Czechia

Scotland’s Under-21 Men are set to begin their EuroHockey Championship II-B campaign this week, with the tournament taking place from 28th July to 1st August in Plzen Litice, Czechia.

The young Scots will face Wales, Turkey and hosts Czechia in the pool stages as they look to make a strong start to the competition. The tournament presents an exciting opportunity for the squad to compete against quality European opposition while continuing their development on the international stage.

This is a fantastic opportunity for our Under-21 Men to test themselves against strong European opposition while competing for the chance to qualify for the FIH Junior World Cup—an achievement Scotland has not accomplished since 2001. It represents an exciting challenge for this talented group and an important milestone within our performance pathway.

Competing in the EuroHockey Championship II provides a platform for our players to demonstrate their ability, continue their development in a high-performance environment and take another significant step in their international careers. Qualification for the Junior World Cup would be a landmark achievement for the squad and a reflection of the progress being made across the Scottish Hockey pathway.

Scottish Hockey is incredibly proud of this group of young men, whose commitment, resilience and ambition continue to drive their development. Their dedication both on and off the pitch sets a positive example for the next generation of Scottish players and reflects the standards we aspire to across our programme.

We would also like to recognise and thank the families, friends, clubs, coaches and volunteers who continue to support these athletes throughout their journey. Their unwavering encouragement, commitment and belief are fundamental to the success of our players and the continued growth of hockey in Scotland.
