National League 1 is the pinnacle of hockey in Scotland. The very best players compete for Scotland’s top clubs to be crowned champions of the National League season.

There is much to play for. In National League 1, the winner is guaranteed a European spot to compete against some of Europe’s top teams.

The top European places are won at the Grand Finals at the end of the season. The winner of the men’s Grand Final goes onto play in the European Hockey League (EHL), Europe’s premier competition. The top European spot in women’s hockey is the prize for the winner of the women’s Grand Final.

The winners of National League 2 secure promotion to National League 1. There is then nail-biting play-offs for National League 1 spots between the runners up in National League 2 and the bottom sides of National league 1.

It all comes to a climax at the Grand Finals showcase event at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre.
