Scotland U21 Men face France and Austria in Euro preparations
Scotland U21 Men continue their preparations for the forthcoming EuroHockey U21 Nations Championship II with games against France and Austria this week.
Speaking before his side travelled to Le Torquet, Scotland U21 Men Head Coach Graham Moodie said, “This is our first match since we beat England at Lillieshall in May. We have these five matches, then a warm-up against Ireland in Portugal, before our opening game against Belarus on 14th July.
“We have had three, 3 day training camps in June leading up to these games. The camps have gone really well, with the players making positive steps forward both in terms of their performance and adopting a far more professional approach.”
Both France U21 and Austria U21 will be competing in the European Championship (top 8 in Europe) this summer so will present a tough test for Moodie’s charges.
France U21 finished fourth at the last European Championships (2012) and second (silver medallists) at the Junior World Cup in Delhi in 2013, while Austria U21 were promoted from the European Trophy in 2012
