Scotland 0 – 0 England
Scotland Senior Grand Masters put on a creditable performance against their English counterparts at Glasgow Green on Wednesday 2 March 2016.
Sterling performances from Captain David Cassell in the heart of the Scottish defence and new cap, keeper Nigel Dixon, prevented England from creating any real chances from open play. England nearly scored from a short corner but a superb double save from Dixon kept the scoresheet blank.
At the other end, Scotland could have had a penalty from their only short corner when Cassell’s shot was defected upwards off a defender’s stick and hit an English body on the line. The umpire ruled that the ball had gone high from the initial hit and England breathed a sigh of relief.
The match ended 0-0, a fair reflection of the play.
