Youth hockey scheduled for this weekend will go ahead as planned
Scottish Hockey is deeply saddened by the news of the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II.
Following the publishing of official guidance from the Government, and feedback from volunteers and coaches, the youth hockey we have scheduled for this weekend will go ahead as planned.
Should clubs and districts wish to proceed with activities as planned they can do so.
A decision has yet to be reached on the opening weekend of Scottish Hockey’s league season, we will share information as soon as possible.
We will fully respect any teams and players who don’t want to participate this weekend. Teams won’t be penalised for withdrawing.
As a mark of respect, and in keeping with the tone of national mourning, a period of silence will be held at the start of activities, and players may wish to wear black armbands. We will pause our social media output around these activities this weekend.
Hockey is about community and bringing people together, and all our thoughts and condolences are with the Royal Family at this sad time.
