Brian Moore
Scottish Hockey is saddened to hear of the passing of Brian Moore. Brian was a well-known and great volunteer, who was always generous with his time and expertise, within the sport for many years.
Brian’s funeral will be held on Friday 19 January at St Andrews Cathedral in Dundee at 12:30.
Brian umpired many competitions and events for Scottish Hockey over the years. He also delivered Umpire Level 1 assessments, mentored officials, and was Midland umpire convenor for many years.
As a teacher at Grove Academy Brian put in lots of hours into developing players, showing a dedication to school hockey, and helped develop players who played for club and country.
Brian was a member of Grove Menzieshill Hockey Club and was instrumental in introducing hockey to many of the club’s members, as well as officiating for the club.
Once Brian’s umpiring career finished he moved over to being a technical official and was one of the first to be involved in Masters hockey, travelling all over the world with his final event being in Hong Kong.
We extend our sincere condolences to Brian’s family and friends at this difficult time.
