Trophies and goals in the BRAVE Cup Finals 2026

Aspiring Boys- Thunder 4-1 Lightning 

Thunder won the Aspiring Boys BRAVE Cup with a 4-1 victory over Lightning in Glasgow.

The tempo was fast from the outset with both teams making good connections all over the pitch. There were corner opportunities at both ends but neither side could hit the target, and the quarter ended goalless.

The second quarter continued at pace, and the game was even, until Sam Johnson broke the deadlock to make it 1-0 to Thunder.

After the goal Thunder continued to assert themselves on the game but Lightning held them off until half time at 1-0.

It went to 2-0 in the third quarter when Oscar Lochrin tapped home after a well worked move.

Lightning pulled one back from the penalty spot and it was Noah Gray who dispatched the ball into the roof of the net. 2-1.

Thunder restored its lead Miles Macaulay deflected the ball into the roof of the net for 3-1.

The final quarter Lightning knew they had work to do, and they threw everything at the match. They were awarded a stroke but were denied by a great save.

A late counter saw Thunder complete the scoring with a tap in for Ruairidh McDonald for 4-1.

 

Aspiring Girls- Lightning 2-2 (5-6) Devils 

It took a shootout to separate the teams with Devils winning the Aspiring Girls BRAVE Cup on penalties after a 2-2 draw.

The opening quarter was an even affair with both sides enjoying some stellar defence.

Devils almost opened the scoring through a near post effort by Harriet Fleetham but it went wide of the right post.

The second half saw Lightning take the lead through a low strike by Bella Lockwood. 1-0.

Devils struck back quickly when Fleetham fired low against the backboard for 1-1.

Hannah Law then put Lightning 2-1 ahead with a deflected finish from close range.

In the final quarter Mia Fulton equalised for Devils when she squeezed the ball under the goalkeeper for 2-2, to take it to a shootout, which went the way of Devils in a close contest.

 

Emerging girls – Lightning 4-3 Devils 

The Emerging Girls BRAVE Cup went to Lightning with a 4-3 victory over Devils at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre.

Lightning opened the scoring with a great goal after a fantastic solo run into the circle. 1-0.

Devils quickly equalised through a goal with a hint of fortune. 1-1.

Lightning edged the play in the second quarter but Devils kept them at bay and the half ended even.

Isla Fuentes Philips made it 2-1 in the third quarter to Lighting with a lovely swept home finish from close range.

Chloe Brown quickly followed up with a penalty corner finish for 3-1.

A penalty corner finish by Devils’ Erin Chapman found the bottom right corner to pull the scoring back to 3-2.

Lightning went 4-2 ahead when a penalty corner strike found the bottom right corner by Emily Macpherson.

Devils struck back when a penalty corner deflection found the roof of the next.  4-3.

A late rally by Devils couldn’t find an equaliser and Lightning won the BRAVE Cup.

 

Emerging Boys – Thunder 5-2 Lightning 

An excellent performance by Thunder saw them defeat Lightning 5-2 to lift the Emerging Boys BRAVE Cup.

Thunder took the lead after a lovely move down the left was finished off clinically by Ethan Gemmell for 1-0.

It then went to 2-0 when Finlay Dunlop struck to double Thunder’s advantage.

Matthew McDonald made it 3-0 as Thunder roared with goals, quickly followed up with a shot through a crowd that found the net for 4-0.

McDonald struck again to make 5-0 in the third quarter and give Thunder further advantage.

Lightning pulled one back when Luke Martin found the net to make it 5-1.

It went to 5-2 when James Carter popped the ball home with five minutes to go.

 

Pitch 2

Devils Emerging Boys defeated Barbarians 7-2 in the first game of the day. There was a hat-trick for Yash Chiniwala, and doubles for Michael de Boucherville and Eli Clark in the win. Toby Anderson and Freddie Brown struck for the Barbarians.

Next up was the Emerging Girls and it was a 3-1 win for Thunder over the Barbarians. Isla Kelly opened the scoring before Eva Cowan doubled the Thunder advantage. Lily Syme struck for Barbarians before Grace Rettie made it 3-1 to complete the scoring.

In the Aspiring Boys Devils had a 10-2 win over Barbarians with Brian McGarrity and Kenneth Mackenzie both bagging a hat-trick; Ryan Dubar scoring a double; and then singles from Peter Fish and Calum Duffy. Sandy Addis and Jack Farmer were on target for Barbarians..

Finally, in the Aspiring Girls, Thunder beat Barbarians 4-2. Brodie McAnkrah opened the scoring for Thunder before Barbarians went 2-1 up through Any Jenkinson and Lucy Langlands. Chloe Hardie; Autumn Hunter and Anna Glen all struck for Thunder to complete the scoring.
