Scottish Hockey rolling out member survey in 2012
Scottish Hockey is planning to undertake a market research exercise
with members in January 2012 to generate understanding and insight
into how members are introduced to the sport and how they progress
within the sport during their participation ‘lifecycle’.
Lee Cousins, President, said:
“The aim of the research study is to gain a better understanding of
our members, and, in particular, how they were introduced to the
sport and what encouraged them to take up involvement in hockey. We
also wish to understand why some members do not renew their
membership or discontinue participation in the sport. The
organisation can then focus its energies into more effectively
retaining members and also looking at ways to encourage new
members.
“We will be issuing the survey to our members in January, and will
do so on an annual basis from then onwards. The information and
feedback provided by our members will be very important to the
success of the study and we are extremely grateful to all who can
participate in the research survey.”
The survey will be sent to members via email from mid-January 2012
and will be available on the Scottish Hockey website. Updates will
also be posted on Facebook and Twitter.
The results will allow the organisation to focus on developing new
initiatives to increase the retention of current members and also
identify new opportunities for encouraging more players, coaches,
officials and volunteers into hockey as members.
