Anti-Doping Policies
Scottish Hockey’s Anti-Doping Rules comply with the WADA, UK Anti-Doping and FIH Regulations.
All athletes have the right to compete in sport knowing that they, and their competitors, are clean.
We Scottish Hockey believe in clean ‘hockey’ and work in partnership with UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) and our International Federation to ensure that the integrity of our sport hockey is protected.
The use of performance-enhancing drugs and other doping behaviour severely damages the legitimacy of sport and undermines the integrity of clean athletes.
Scottish Hockey has in place a set of anti-doping rules that all athletes, coaches and athlete support personnel must abide by. For more information about our anti-doping rules click HERE.

Ethics Manual
Scottish Hockey is committed to organising the sport of hockey within a strict ethical framework. The Ethics manual was last updated in 2013 and Scottish Hockey are working with expert resource to provide updated policies and guidance as detailed above. The Ethics Manual guidance is still active in areas where we have not yet produced updated guidance and will be used from time to time for guidance. Confirmation will be provided when Scottish Hockey have formally and comprehensively replaced the Ethics Manual guidance.
The values that the Scottish Hockey holds can be stated as:
- A sport that values “fair play”
- A sport that is free from doping
- A sport that provides a safe environment for young and vulnerable people
- An equitable sport where everyone can participate to the best of their abilities whether that is as a player, coach, umpire, official or other volunteer.
To ensure these values are upheld we organise our activities with regards to a number of codes and policies, as found in the Ethics Manual which us currently under review. The latest version of the Ethics Manual can be found HERE
The Discipline code relating to on field discipline and relating forms can be found here.
