U18 National Club Cup Finals
Excitement is building ahead of this season’s U18 National Club Cup Finals at Peffermill in Edinburgh. The Girls’ and Boys’ finals both take place on Friday 12 November:
- U18 Girls: GHK v Grange (6.15pm start)
- U18 Boys: Grange v Perthshire (7.45pm start)
The Teams
Each team’s squad list is included in the Cup Finals Programme. This also includes the names of the officials appointed to these finals.
The Boys’ final sees the 2019-20 winners, Perthshire meeting the 2018-19 champions, Grange. But who will triumph in 2021?
There will be a new name on the Girls’ trophy, as GHK and Grange compete to see who can succeed Watsonians and Clydesdale Western, who have dominated this event since 2016.
The competition didn’t run last season due to the pandemic.
Spectators are welcome
It promises to be a great evening, as the top U18 teams in the country compete to be the national champions. Entry is free for all spectators, but you may need to get there early to get a seat.
Qualification
Each of the teams qualified for the finals via Tournaments in September. Grange Boys topped their pool in Edinburgh; and Perthshire won the event in Glasgow.
The four winners of the Girls’ pools also played semi-finals due to the large number of teams in this season’s competition. The results of these closely fought matches were:
- GHK 1 Western Wildcats 1 – GHK won 5-4 on penalties
- Grange 2 Inverleith 0
Best of luck to all teams involved in the finals.
