A tremendous 10-2 victory over Portugal saw Scotland men claim third spot at the EuroHockey Qualifier in Vienna.
The Scots smashed home three goals in the opening quarter with Cammy Golden opening the scoring followed by a Struan Walker double. Portugal did retaliate with Luis Pereira finding the net from a penalty corner.
Scotland went 4-1 ahead at the end of the first half and it was Walker bagging his hat-trick with a penalty corner finish.
Ali Douglas opened the second half with a goal to put Scotland 5-1 up before Keir Robb made it 6-1 and Jamie Golden scored for 7-1.
Robb scored his second and Scotland’s eighth quickly followed by a ninth struck by Cammy Golden.
Rodrigo Castro sunk a penalty corner into the Scotland net to make it 9-2 but Scotland made it double figures, for the second match in the tournament, when Walker found the net from the penalty spot for 10-2.
