Round-Up: Women’s National Indoor League
The Women’s National Indoor League programme also returned to action after the festive break today with sessions in Division 1 and Midland & North Division.
Women’s National Indoor League Division 1
Dundee Wanderers continued their impressive 100% record at the top of Division 1 following victories over Granite City Wanderers (5-0) and Western Wildcats (9-0) in this afternoon’s indoor session at Forthbank.
The Dundonians also improved their very healthy goal difference with another fourteen goals today, taking their tally to a remarkable seventy-five goals scored and conceding only eight.
Wanderers maintain their three point advantage over city rivals Grove Menzieshill, who also defeated the Wildcats (7-1) and Granite City Wanderers (4-1) to retain their second place spot in the league.
CALA Edinburgh kept pace with the top two sides with wins over Reid Kerr College Kelburne (6-3) and Inverleith Ladies (6-4), keeping a five point difference between them and Milne Craig Clydesdale Western, who recorded 6-3 and 9-2 victories over the same opposition.
Today’s results also mean that Kelburne, Granite City Wanderers and Inverleith Ladies are all deadlocked on three points at the foot of the table as they seek to avoid relegation from the top division.
Women’s National Indoor League Midland & North Division
It’s a three-way fight at the top of the Midland & North Division, with Grove Menzieshill A, Stirling Wanderers and Perthshire level on fifteen points.
Dundee Wanderers A sprung a surprise 4-2 win over league leaders Grove Menzieshill A, but the latter’s 4-0 win over Bon Accord MBC in their second match kept them top of the league on goal difference following the end of the session.
Perthshire suffered a 7-4 reversal at the hands of Bon Accord MBC in their first match but composed themselves to record an important 5-3 win over Stirling Wanderers in the last match of the session. Wanderers stay in second place following a 4-2 success against Dundee Wanderers A.
