Lithuania take fifth spot in Women’s EuroHockey Qualifier in Glasgow
Croatia 0-3 Lithuania
A 3-0 victory saw Lithuania secure fifth spot at the Women’s EuroHockey Championship Qualifier in Glasgow.
Lithuania enjoyed good possession in the opening quarter but Croatia looked threatening on counter attacks. Lithuania created the best opportunity of the quarter after a well worked move down the right, but the Croatian defence did well to shepherd the ball out.
A great double save by Nicole Stepic denied Lithuania as they pressed for the lead. The opening goal eventually arrived and it went to Lithuania; a deflection from a shot by Kristina Siebe took the ball looping over the goalkeeper and into the net. 1-0.
In the third quarter Lithuania doubled their lead when Dovile Juraite fired a reverse edge finish into the roof of the net for 2-0.
Lithuania’s third goal came in the final quarter. A low shot blasted into the bottom left corner from a penalty corner, firmly sealed the win.
