Lanigan double sinks France

Two goals from Giffnock`s Lucy Lanigan finished off a very
successful weekend`s work for Scotland`s under 18 girl`s as they
beat France 3-0 in the final match of a three nations tournament in
Lille.

Glynhill Kelburne`s Emma Barlow opened Scotland`s account after
some smart work in the French circle by Louise Campbell.  The
Scots continued to dominate proceedings, reducing the French to a
few sporadic raids.  The Giffnock striker put the Scots two up
after being put through by Barlow and Lanigan sealed the result
with a third goal after dispossessing a French defender and
slotting the ball past the keeper.

“The girls were physically tested this weekend against France and
Germany, their hard work over the last eight months is starting to
show,” said Colin Clarke, Scotland`s coach.

Scotland`s under 18 boys also finished on a high note by beating
Ulster 3-2 in their final match in Jordanstown to take the three
match series 2-1.  The goals came from Ben Peterson, Corey
Hastings and the Irish donated the other one with an own
goal.
