Clubs – What’s coming up and what you need to know!

CLUBS – WHAT’S COMING UP & WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW!

As we approach the end of the 2025-26 season Scottish Hockey has been busy launching our new strategy: Shaping the Future of Hockey in Scotland and hosting various school and club events! To see what is coming up have a look on our events page!

AFFILITATION

Our focus now turns to our next few months and the key information clubs will need to affiliate for season 2026/27. A huge thank you to the clubs who completed this for last season!

In line with our new strategic priorities – We will profile and share our support for clubs on a number of platforms including social media, email and webinars to support club leaders in their responsibilities to deliver safe hockey.

TIMELINES TO NOTE:

Club Affiliation

  • Reopens in June but clubs can get started now by having the prerequisites up to date to affiliate with the foundations for a safe and organised club – clubs have until the end of June to re-declare their affiliation information or make changes. For most clubs who have information up to date this will be a short process. If you need any support our Development Team are on hand.
  • In order to affiliate for 2026-27 season clubs are required to have the 5 core documents (see here) in place.
  • If you require more support to meet the minimum operating standards, please get in contact.
  • The prerequisites for safe and well organised hockey need to be completed before clubs can finalise and pay for their registration.
  • *Please note, additional Child/Adult Wellbeing & Protection in Sport courses will run throughout the summer to support Safeguarding Officers obtaining certificates.
  • Please ensure your committee roles are updated on Sport80 especially after club AGMs where roles may change!

Competition Entry

  • Opens 23rd June – 7th July.
  • All clubs are required to affiliate and declare compliance with minimum standards prior to competition entry. Development support is available for any clubs that need support with this.

Individual Memberships

  • Renewal date is on the 31st August
  • Auto renewal of individual memberships will take place on the 31st August. Clubs should ensure that all club members purchase a membership suited to their needs and declare any roles or other certifications on Sport80.
  • More information will come out in due course.
