A message of thanks for the ongoing support of #BackTheBlueSticks
Scotland’s senior men’s hockey squad would like thank everyone who has supported the #BackTheBlueSticks crowdfunding campaign, which has reached its £10,000 target.
The support of all in the hockey community, and beyond, for the squad’s fundraising efforts has been exceptional as the team prepares for competing at the World League Semi-Finals for the first time.
There is still time to support the team and details of exciting prizes up for grabs will be announced soon. The crowdfunding campaign is still live until 31 May 2017 and any further donations are greatly welcome; all funds raised will contribute to preparations for the tournament.
The squad exceeded all expectations and qualified for the World League Semi-Finals in London this June and the Scots now have the opportunity to play for a place in the Hockey World Cup.
In London the tournament features England, the Netherlands, India, Pakistan, Korea, Canada, China, Malaysia, and Argentina alongside the Scots. The Blue Sticks have been drawn in Pool B against India, Pakistan, The Netherlands, and Canada.
The squad, young and full of potential, is extremely grateful for your contributions that will help them go toe-to-toe with some of the best hockey teams in the world.
Thank you for the incredible support.
