Non-UK Sports Person Visa Guidance Update
Clubs may be aware of Home Office immigration guidance relating to sport-specific eligibility rules for sportspeople without a UK passport, which applies across a number of sports. Scottish Hockey are, conscious that many clubs will already be in their recruitment cycles with potential financial implications for sponsoring entities (clubs) and individuals.
Scottish Hockey have been in discussions with immigration lawyers and are awaiting guidance from the Home Office to provide updated guidance for clubs on this matter. England Hockey will together with Scottish Hockey to provide updated guidance to explain the interaction between Home Office immigration guidance and sport-specific eligibility rules and the implications this will have for our clubs, members and hockey in general.
As soon as an update becomes available we will share this to provide clear, consistent, and practical guidance to clubs. Scottish Hockey remains committed to supporting clubs to plan responsibly and confidently for the season ahead.
Thank you in advance for your patience while we seek clarity and provide consistent guidance.
