Wildcats and Watsonians at the Top
After today`s catch-up Premiership matches, Wildcats have moved into pole position ahead of Grange, while in the women`s league Watsonians take over at the top on goal difference from rivals Edinburgh University.
Wildcats purred into pole position in the men`s Premiership with a comfortable 6-1 victory over Inverleith in a catch-up fixture. They now lead Grange by three points.

Christie opened for Wildcats in only two minutes, but Inverleith drew level through Livio Belotti. The reversal stimulated the Wildcats into action, Harwood made it 2-1 with a rebound at a penalty corner. Then Christie added a third before the interval with a flick into the top corner.

The second half belonged to Wildcats with Harwood adding a double, the first was a deflection at the far post following a pass from Christie at a penalty corner, to be followed by an open play strike. Christie then completed the scoring with a direct flick at a penalty corner for Wildcats` sixth.
Wildcats` coach Vishal Marwaha said: “We played well particularly in the second half. It was a much better performance than yesterday against Dunfermline Carnegie.”
Edinburgh University moved into third spot in the table after a belated 1-0 win over previously unbeaten Watsonians. The occasion was summed up by Watsonians` Luke Campbell: “It was a good even game, it could have gone either way in the last quarter.”
But it was the students` Keir Robb who broke the deadlock in the final minute, he got the ball at the top of the circle, drove round into a tight angle, and then unleashed a cracking shot into the Watsonians` net for a late winner.
In the women’s Premiership, Watsonians are now top courtesy of a 7-0 win at Glasgow University.
The students put up some stern resistance in the first half but still found themselves two down at the interval.
Katie Crawford opened with a deflection, to be followed by a penalty corner conversion by Emily Dark.
The second half belonged to Scotland striker Sarah Jamieson, with a well-taken hat-trick as Watsonians stepped up the pressure. In between, Ellie Stott and Alisa Small added to the total.
