West triumphant at Forthbank
BOY`S UNDER 18 INTER-DISTRICT TOURNAMENT –
FORTHBANK
Glynhill Kelburne`s teenager Lee Morton scored twice in
the final of the boy`s under 18 indoor Inter-District final at
Forthbank to give West District the trophy after beating Midland
4-1 in the final.
Jason Cairns and Morton put West two up before Jack Burton
pulled one back before the interval. In the second half
goals from John-Gerrard Shepherd and Morton again gave West a
comfortable victory.
In the first game of the tournament, a hat-trick by Jason Cairns
put West on the winning way against Midland in the pool game,
Morton and Shepherd got the others as West won 5-3, Burton, Adam
McArtney and Fergus Sandison got the goals for Midland. West
went on to defeat North 8-2, Cairns was the hero with six goals,
the others came from Morton and Michael O`Donovan. West
continued their winning sequence with a 5-2 win over East, Shepherd
got two and there were singles for Cairns, O`Donovan and George
Adams.
Midland finished second in the pool, they beat East 1-0.
