Weekend Preview: Men’s National Indoor League programme

The Men’s National Indoor Leagues continue this weekend with fixtures across all five Divisions on Saturday 19 January.

en’s National Indoor League Division 1
If Harris Academy FP are to have a chance of avoiding the drop into Division 2, they must aim to take points from their three matches during Saturday’s indoor session at Bell’s Sports Centre, Perth.
It won’t be easy; they face title challengers Grove Menzieshill in their first match before meeting Western Wildcats and Glynhill Hotel Kelburne in their remaining fixtures of the session.
Meanwhile, PSL Team Sport Clydesdale could drag the Wildcats and Dundee Wanderers into a relegation scrap if they can register positive results in their encounters against both sides and Glynhill Hotel Kelburne.
Table toppers Inverleith play Glynhill Hotel Kelburne and Dundee Wanderers with the aim of cementing their position at the league summit, while Grove Menzieshill will be confident of taking points from Harris Academy and Grange to keep the heat on the Edinburgh side.
Men’s National Indoor League Division 2
Grove Menzieshill II can keep the pressure on league leaders AMN Hillhead if they can stretch their unbeaten run to eight matches with wins over Falkirk GHG and Alpha Data Carnegie. The leaders play Stepps and third place AAM Gordonians.
At the foot of the table, the clash between Alpha Data Carnegie and CALA Edinburgh in the opening match of the session is a real ‘six pointer’, while Inverleith II face AAM Gordonians and Stepps with relegation fears on their mind. CALA Edinburgh play Falkirk GHG in their second match.
Men’s National Indoor League Division 3
There is a top of the table clash in Division 3 this weekend when leaders Watsonians go head to head with second place FMGM Monarchs.
The Edinburgh outfit could extend their advantage over the Taysiders with a win but Monarchs have won their last four games on the trot and will fancy their chances.
Both sides will be confident of securing three points from their second matches of the session; Watsonians face basement side Dundee Wanderers II, while Monarchs play second from bottom Olympic Garscadden.
Meanwhile, McWhinney Uddingston could keep their promotion hopes alive if they can overcome both Granite City Wanderers and Quasar before facing Kelburne II. However, the Paisley second string could also enter the promotion race if results go in their favour in their fixtures against all three sides.
The contest between Dundee Wanderers II and Olympic Garscadden is a must win for both sides as they look to avoid relegation.
