Scotland`s under 21 side lost their second match of
their Hamburg tour, the final build-up for the European Junior
Nations Championships in Den Bosch in two weeks time, when they
went down 5-1 to a very experienced Uhlenhorster
outfit.
All the scoring occurred in the first half with the young Scots
only goal coming from a low drag flick at a penalty corner by
Grange`s Fraser Sands. Scotland`s only other chance
fell to Hamish Imrie but unfortunately he shot directly at the
goalkeeper.
The Scots did well keep the experienced German Bundesliga side
to a goalless second half.
“Bearing in mind they are a very good side, three EuroLeague
titles and two Beijing gold medallists playing today, it was a very
encouraging and positive performance,” said Graham Stuart,
Scotland`s manager.
