Umpiring Craft Night in Galashiels
Maggie Connacher, East District Umpire Convener will be
hosting an ‘Umpire Craft Night’ on Monday 30th January
at 6.30-9pm at the Volunteer Hall, Galashiels. The evening is very
informal and aimed at increasing umpiring numbers therfore we would
like to invite as many people as possible, in order to try and
share the load.
For potential or trainee umpires, you will be required to
undertake the ‘C’ Badge qualification to get you started and learn
the practical umpiring elements. The ‘Craft Night’ is the first
stage in completing your umpiring ‘C’ badge and you are required to
complete the ‘Theory Test Paper’ prior to the meeting and bring it
with you to the meeting where it will be marked and discussed
during the evening. The test paper along with other information on
umpiring is avialble in our ‘Officiating’ section of our website here. If you are successful in passing the
question paper you are then required to complete a practical
umpiring assessment at a later date.
