Looking for their first win of the tournament, they took the game to the Greek side and had most of the early possession. Chances fell to Jonjo Lavin, Martyn Connor and Martin McIntosh throughout the first half but all three failed to convert, leaving the match still goalless at half-time.
Uddingston continued to push on from the start of the second half and were rewarded within two minutes of the re-start when Brian Stirling intercepted a loose ball to release David Goodfellow whose cross was converted at the front post by a Martin McIntosh tap in.
The home side pressed forward in search of an equaliser but a breakaway from the Scots found Connor on the baseline and he drove into the cirlcle to cross for Lavin, who beat the home keeper to double the advantage at 2-0.
Ethnikos pulled one back with an excellent goal from an acute angle but the visiting side held on for the victory.
Captain Nairn Scobie said after the game, “It was great to finish on a high and it’s been a fantastic weekend for the development of the team. We would like to thank Ethnikos for hosting the tournament and to all teams who took part and provided fantastic opposition”.
