Think you’ve got what it takes to play for Scotland?
We are delighted to announce an open trial opportunity for prospective athletes over the age of 18 to show their capability for inclusion in our men’s national programmes moving forward, and press for opportunities to represent Scotland at U21 or senior level during 2024, and beyond.
This will be an open trial nomination process, and the day will include two, two-hour pitch sessions, which will be led by the Men’s National Team coaching team.

Fettes College Hockey Pitch, Edinburgh.

09:30 – 10:00 Meet & Welcome
10:00 – 12:00 Pitch Session One (Technical Skills)
12:00 – 13:30 Lunch Break (Provide Your Own Lunch)
13:30 – 14:00 Meeting Pre Session Two
14:00 – 16:00 Pitch Session Two (Game Based & Specialist Skills)
Who should apply?
Players who believe they have the requisite skillsets to represent Scotland in the future, or be considered for selection to either our U21 international squad for the U21 European tournament in July 2024, or for our Men’s National Team. Goalkeepers and outfielders are welcome to apply.
The Nomination Process
Nominations for the trial will occur via an online form, (linked below) which needs to be completed by your coach.

Cost
There is a cost of £25 to participate which must be paid to Scottish Hockey ahead of the trial via bank transfer using the following details:

Selection Process/Feedback
There will be four potential routes;
- No progression (No formal feedback will be provided for players not selected for progression)
- No inclusion into either National Programme but sent back to club to monitor ahead of potential future inclusion.
- Progression into Aspiring Squad for U21 potential inclusion
- Progression into senior squad for U21 / senior potential inclusion
