Tall order for Erskine Stewart’s Melville to upset leaders Uddingston
Aberdeen Asset Management Men’s National League
Division 2
Having inflicting Uddingston’s only defeat of the season so far, Erskine Stewart’s Melville can travel west with some optimism for this weekend’s clash against the league leaders.
However, the Lanarkshire outfit have gone on somewhat of a roll ever since and are only three goals shy of notching up a century. Form would certainly favour the current table toppers tomorrow.
Second place Watsonians will aim to keep pace with Uddingston when they host Alpha Data Carnegie at home, while Aberdeen GSFP can keep alive hopes of a play-off spot with an away win at Glasgow University.
Fourth place University of St.Andrew’s host Falkirk GHG; the last time these two sides met it ended in a 1-1 draw and with Falkirk only four points behind the students, they will fancy their chances of an away victory this weekend.
At the other end of the table, FMGM Monarchs are away to Granite City Wanderers who comfortably came out on top 5-1 earlier in the season.
After securing their first win in over a month CALA Edinburgh welcome Stepps to the capital, and after suffering a 6-0 loss to their opponents earlier this season, it will be a tough match for home side.
Division 3
Despite being tested last weekend by Highland top team 2020 Renewables Greenock have still yet to lose a match. They play fourth place University of Dundee tomorrow and will look to maintain the only unbeaten record in the National League.
Second place Perthshire welcome Harris Academy FP with only two points separate these two sides. After a 2-2 draw earlier in the season both teams will be looking to secure all three points this time.
Seventh place Highland host ADTI Aberdeen University, while Ayr face Stirling Wanderers, both struggling in the league and both will be fancying themselves to take the points in this match. Eighth place Giffnock travel away to University of Strathclyde.
On Sunday two student teams face one another, University of Dundee welcome University of Strathclyde while ADTI Aberdeen University take on Waverley Inveresk Trinity.

Bottom of the table battle on Saturday with Livingston & West Lothian sitting at the foot of the table, welcome struggling Alpha Data Carnegie II.
