Strathallan and High School of Glasgow triumph in under 16s cup
SCOTTISH UNDER 16 CUP AT STRATHALLAN –
SUNDAY 11 MARCH 2012
Strathallan and The High School of Glasgow were the
respective winners of the boy`s and girl`s Scottish under 16 Cup at
Strathallan yesterday.
Both Strathallan and Greaves Clydesdale proceeded through the
pool stages with wins over CALA Edinburgh and Perthshire to set up
a final confrontation. On their own patch, goals from Ross
Buchanan and Rory Barnes was sufficient to give Strathallan a 2-1
win over Clydesdale to take the trophy for the third year in a
row. Perthshire took third place with a 3-2 victory over
CALA.
In the girl`s pool both Watsonians and The High School of
Glasgow proceeded through the group stages undefeated, the former
finishing two points ahead of the Glasgow side. The game
between the top two sides ended in a goalless draw. But in
the final Glasgow High turned the tables and won 2-1 to take the
Scottish Cup with goals from Carla Godsman and Rebekah Cubie,
Hannah Nicolson replying for the Edinburgh side.
