Statement: Women’s National League Division 1/2 play-off
Scottish Hockey today confirmed that the Women’s Aberdeen Asset Management National League Division 1/2 play-off on Sunday 12 May has been postponed.
GHK Ladies were sanctioned by the Competitions & Events Manager on Wednesday 8 May for breach of competitions byelaws 10.2.6, 10.2.7 and 10.2.8 regarding failure to fulfil a fixture against Granite City Wanderers.
The sanction issued was a £75 fine, a 3 point deduction and a 5-0 win awarded to Granite City Wanderers.
As a result, GHK Ladies submitted an appeal to Scottish Hockey on Thursday 9 May.
It is not possible to convene a panel for an appeal hearing between now and the play-off on Sunday 12 May.
Given the potential impact and implications of an appeal being upheld in favour of GHK Ladies, a decision has been made to postpone the play-off and agree a date once the outcome of an appeal hearing has been produced.
All affected teams have been made aware of this situation.
