BRAVE Cup Finals 2025 delivers drama, action, and goals!

Lightning was victorious in the Emerging Girls BRAVE Cup 2025 final with a 6-1 win over Devils at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre.

It was the Lightning show from the push back but it wasn’t until right before the end of the first quarter before they found the net; Eleri Jones made it 1-0.

The opener was followed with a second right after the break when Bella Lockwood scored to make it 2-0 for Lightning.

Devils pulled one back in the second half through a Mhairi McGregor penalty corner to make it 2-1.

Gracie Mitchinson made it 3-1 for Lightning before Jones struck again for her second of the contest.

Isla Lloyd and Anna Anstead both added their name to the score sheet to complete the scoring giving Lightning a superb 6-1 win to lift the trophy.

Lightning emerging boys were on top goalscoring form to claim third spot at BRAVE Cup 2025.

William Young opened the scoring in the thirteenth minute before scoring again a minute later for 2-0.

Felix Usher made it 3-0 before Barbarians pulled one back through Ceiba Colquhoun.

Alexander Tait was next on the score sheet to make it 4-1 to Lightning and this was quickly followed up by a fifth goal from Lewis Grey.

Usher struck again to make it 6-1 before Barbarians pulled one back from another goal by Colquhoun.

Ben Maclean completed the scoring late in the match to make it 7-2 at the final whistle.

Brave Cup history was made with a first ever Devils trophy lift after the beat Thunder 2-0 in the shootout after a 1-1 draw in Glasgow.

Devils took the lead through a Gillies Law penalty corner rebound into the bottom left corner. 1-0.

Thunder battled back into the contest and managed to level the scores. Oscar Lochrin swept home from close range to equalise. 1-1.

Both teams went for it as the game reached its conclusion but they couldn’t be separated and we went to a shootout.

It was a tense shootout but Devils took the win with a 2-0 victory to lift the trophy.

Thunder came out on top in a close match against Barbarians to claim third spot in Emerging Girls’ BRAVE Cup 2025.

The game was three minutes old when Thunder took the lead through a Lucy Langlands strike for 1-0.

Barbarians bagged a deserved equaliser when Annabelle Ross found the net to make it 1-1.

Thunder went back in front almost immediately with a goal by Chloe Hardie then scored a third with Hardie bagging her double.

Barbarians launched a late comeback and Emily Macpherson pulled it back to 3-2, but there would be no further goals and Thunder took the win.

Lightning won the Aspiring Girls’ BRAVE Cup 2025 trophy with an action-packed 2-1 victory over Lightning at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre.

It was a very tight opening to the match with both sides looking composed and confident, but cancelling each other out.

Lightning took the lead in the second quarter. Keara Milligan got the final touch in a game of pinball in the Thunder circle to make it 1-0.

Thunder came roaring back and won a penalty stroke, which Alex Burdon dispatched into the bottom left corner for 1-1.

Lightning went back in front through a delightful penalty corner routine that saw Jennifer Cain deflect high into the net for 2-1.

Thunder went all out attack for the final stages of the game but couldn’t find an equaliser and Lightning took the trophy home.

Aspiring Boys | Devils 3-2 Barbarians | Pitch 2

A close contest for third place in the Aspiring Boys’ BRAVE Cup went to Devils with a 3-2 win over Barbarians.

Devils took the lead at the end of the second quarter when Calum Duffy found the net to make it 1-0.

Jamie Leonard equalised for Barbarians when he converted a penalty corner routine for 1-1.

Findlay Duncan restored the Devils’ advantage from a penalty corner finish but Barbarians came fighting back for a second time with Noah Gilmour equalising to make it 2-2.

Devils struck a late winner from another penalty corner routine with Duncan finding the net for a second time in the 3-2 victory.

 

Aspiring Boys Final | Thunder 0-1 Lightning | Pitch 1

A close aspiring boys’ BRAVE Cup 2025 final was won by Lightning with a 1-0 victory over Thunder in Glasgow.

It was a very tight opening quarter in a game that felt like it was on the verge of exploding into life.

The second quarter was just as close as the first but Thunder turned the screw with a succession of penalty corners towards the end of the half – Lightning survived.

A close and competitive third quarter saw both sides playing good hockey but unable to fashion a clean opportunity.

The deadlock was finally broken in the final quarter and it was Lightning who found the net. Cody Adams fizzed home a penalty corner to make it 1-0.

A late rally by Thunder couldn’t find an equaliser and Lightning won the cup.

 

Aspiring Girls | Devils 3-2 Barbarians | Pitch 2

Devils defeated Barbarians 3-2 in Aspiring Girls’ BRAVE Cup 2025 to claim third place.

The opening goal Lucie Johnston opened the scoring for Devils from a penalty corner to make it 1-0.

Barbarians not only equalised but took the lead first through Gabriela Miller and then Amelie Clarkson.

Two late goals from Devils saw them take victory. Harriet Fleetham scored first before Anna Green completed the scoring and claimed the win for Devils.
