The programme will run for 15 weeks with the children also taking part in the new Midland Youth Programme to ensure they have regular events to attend across the district.
Jamie Carnegie, Director of Hockey at University of St Andrew’s, said: “It was great to see so many kids turn up to the first session of this kind run at the University, we have filled a gap in the area for this group of kids who would otherwise not take up the sport at any level. Working with Madras HC will provide them weekly sessions and monthly competitions to play in and develop”

The programme has been put in place to provide young hockey players with the opportunity to take part in regular hockey sessions and provide a pathway into club activity.
It will fill a gap in hockey provision in the North East Fife and has been done through fantastic partnership working between both Madras clubs, University of St Andrews, Scottish Hockey, Active Fife and Fife Active Schools Team.
