sportscotland open funding resource for clubs
sportscotland have launched a new initiative to provide clubs with the opportunity to apply for funding to develop their club.
There are a range of options, some are new and some are improved versions of existing programmes which are all open to clubs of all sorts and sizes. The one thing local sport clubs need to have, in order to take advantage of this opportunity, is a commitment to develop.
‘Direct club investment’ is a new and additional component of sportscotland’s investment in club sport. As a funding stream it complements their existing club investment opportunities: Awards for All, sportsmatch and the Sports Facility Fund.
The major difference for hockey clubs applying for this funding to support their development is it can be available over an extended period from 2-4 years, allowing time to embed significant development.
In 2013 / 2014 this funding stream will be made available to around 50 local sports clubs that are committed to significantly developing their club.
This is a fantastic opportunity for hockey clubs to make real progress in their development as we approach the Commonwealth Games and beyond.
Please read the briefing note on this, along with business case guide for further information.
