Scottish Hockey teams up with Unicorn Cup
Scottish Hockey has partnered with Unicorn Cup as part of Scottish Hockey’s drive to support female health within hockey through education, and products that help remove barriers to female participation in sports.
Unicorn Cup is a period cup that offers leak proof protection for up to 12 hours. Holding up to six times that of pads or tampons, Unicorn Cup can be sterilised at the end of your period, folded flat into its storage case and used over and again for up to 10 years.
Unicorn Cup will be offered amongst team members across the Scotland pathway, alongside education sessions to help broaden knowledge, and knock down barriers, across the sport.
A 30% discount will also be offered to the wider Scottish Hockey membership.
Julie Fyfe, founder of Unicorn Cup, “Unicorn Cup were extremely impressed, from the get go, with Scottish Hockey’s emphasis on ensuring that their athletes are armed with all of the education required to make informed decisions on what period care products are right for them.
“Moving forward, Unicorn Cup will be delivering face-to-face sessions with players to help them bridge the knowledge gaps around period cups, to help them fully understand the huge benefits of making the switch from single use disposable products.”
Barry Cawte, CEO of Scottish Hockey, said, “We’re absolutely delighted to partner with an exciting brand in Unicorn Cup to help us take on the barriers to female participation within hockey. We’re driven to ensure our athletes, and participants across the sport, have access to education to make decisions on the best period care products available for them.
“Working with Unicorn Cup will ensure information is widely available, as well as access to high quality sustainable products through a discount. This is another exciting partnership promoting female athlete health and we’re looking forward to working with Unicorn Cup going forward.”
