Scottish Hockey Club Accreditation update
Scottish Hockey’s Club Accreditation Programme, sponsored by Arthur J Gallacher, now sits at a total of 24 clubs across Scotland. We are delighted to announce that the following clubs have achieved Gold and Silver status during the September Accreditation intake:
Gold
Uddingston Hockey Club
Silver
Harris Academy FP Hockey Club
Falkirk & Linthithgow Hockey Club
Irvine Ladies Hockey Club

These clubs have worked tirelessly to fulfil all the required of Gold and Silver Level Accreditation, including our new coach PVG guidelines and coach education criteria. The clubs have developed their governance and implemented new processes across their club environments.
The Accreditation Programme has been developed to formalise the work that clubs may already do and ensures that the clubs have a clear vision for the future along with ensuring succession planning, workforce planning and strong governance are to the fore. The programme also ensures that clubs are safe, well organised and efficient with a focus on membership growth and retention.
The clubs will now be able to access all of the benefits that the programme offers. Well done to all the volunteers involved in the completing the accreditation process on behalf of their clubs.
Katie Brown, Scottish Hockey’s West Regional Development Manager (RDM), said:
“By working through the accreditation process Uddingston has put clear structures, policies and procedures in place that have improved the club significantly, and will benefit and support its growth in the coming years. As the West RDM I am delighted that Uddingston have been awarded this accolade and it is a testament to the efforts, enthusiasm and hard work of all the volunteers involved with the club.”
Dave Martin, Harris FP Hockey Club said:
“Over the last six years Harris Academy FP Hockey Club has placed a big emphasis on developing hockey at youth level. The Silver Club accreditation scheme has been a great help in providing a structure for setting up all the necessary policies and posts of responsibility required to make this a success. Being awarded Silver Club status is a reward for the hard work put in by the club committee, coaches, players and parents.”
