Scots draw in Prague

Scotland women`s under 21 squad left Prague
undefeated, with earlier back to back wins against their junior
side, the Czechs decided to put out their senior squad today and
could only manage a 4-4, another stage in the Scots build-up for
the European Junior Nations Championships in Russia later this
summer.
The Scots youngsters strolled into a two goal lead
at the interval, Nicola Skrastin opened with a deflection at a
penalty corner and then Sarah Robertson opened up the Czech defence
down the right for Lucy Lanigan to shoot past the goalkeeper.
The Czechs pulled one back early in the second
half, but Dave Stott`s charges put their foot on the pedal again,
Kerry Hall made it 3-1 with a powerful shot from the top of the
circle, then a cross by Stephanie McInally eluded the goalkeeper
and Fiona Bruce dived it to make it four.  The Scots girls
lost some of their composure and allowed the home side to score
three late goals from a penalty corner and breakaways to steal a
draw at the end.
“We were always threatening with some very good
build up play, and certainly deserved to win, but the loss of three
late goals was a hard lesson learned,” said Sharon Bissett,
Scotland`s manager.
