Scotland women’s squad for EuroHockey Championship announced

The Scotland women’s squad has been announced to compete at the EuroHockey Championships in Monchengladbach, Germany, on 9-17 August.

England will be Scotland’s first Pool B opponents in Germany when they meet on 10 August at 10:15, and Spain will be next for Scotland on 11 August at 13:30. In Scotland’s final pool game they play Belgium on 13 August at 12:15 before the crossover matches.

It’s been an action-packed year for the squad with 2025 beginning with a trip to Chile to compete in the Nations Cup where Scotland finished in an excellent fifth position clocking up victories over Japan, Canada and Korea.

A series victory against Wales at Peffermill followed as the Tartan Hearts built towards the Euros, and then a win over England Dev continued momentum.

Scotland will play France at Peffermill on 26 and 27 July before jetting off to the Euros; further information and tickets for these games can be found HERE.

Head Coach Chris Duncan said, “It has been a long year for the group, following the robust preparation period over winter for the Nations Cup. However, the bounce and enthusiasm that came as a result of our performances in Chile has carried through over the last few months, and I believe we have had great preparation for this competition.

“The team has continued to develop, and showed great hunger to continually develop our own style. There is no doubt that the EuroHockey Championships is a tough tournament, with opposition ranked 3, 7, and 8th in the world in our pool, but we are excited to test our ability against these teams. We look forward to the test, and the opportunity to show the hockey world what we are capable of.”
