Scotland U21 Men welcome England to Inverclyde for international double header
Scotland U21 Men take to the field in competitive action for the
first time this summer as they face England in two U21
international matches at the sportscotland National Centre,
Inverclyde on 20th & 21st August.
The squad’s last outing was earlier this year in April, when they
faced a touring Canada side in Edinburgh, defeating the visitors
5-1 and 2-1 in a two match series at Peffermill. As with the young
Scots, England U21 have also played their Canadian counterparts,
recording three wins (4-0, 4-0, and 4-1) in the process.
Head Coach Derek Forsyth will have striker Alan Forsyth and
midfielder Michael Bremner available, which will bring valuable
senior international experience to the squad with the Glynhill
Hotel Kelburne pairing having competed for the full national side
the EuroHockey Nations Championship II in Vinnitsa. Club team-mates
Ross McIntyre and Josh Cairns also make the eighteen player
squad.
In addition, local rivals Greaves Clydesdale provide four players
to the squad, including Scott Lindsay, Aidan Black, Gregor Hirst
and Peter Baldwin, whilst Grange duo Adam Walker and Duncan Riddell
also feature.
