Scotland Development Programme (SDP) – An exciting time to be part of the Scotland women’s pathway
The Scotland pathway is in a fantastic place, with all of our female squads returning to A Division European competition, and our U21 women qualifying for the Junior World Cup in 2025. The programme is going from strength to strength, and this is a brilliant time to get involved.
Who is the SDP for?
We particularly welcome athletes who are under 21 as of 31 December 2024, making them eligible for selection for the Junior World Cup in December 2025 a key focus of the upcoming cycle.
The SDP is open to players who:
Are eligible to represent Scotland
Are under 23 years old as of 1 January 2026
Are not currently in the National Aspiring or Senior squads
This is a high-performance development opportunity for ambitious athletes with the potential to reach senior international level.
Open Assessment Session
An open assessment session for the Scotland Development Programme will take place at:
Peffermill Playing Fields, Edinburgh
Sunday 24 August 2025
2:30pm – 6:00pm
There is no cost to attend this session.
To be considered for the SDP, players must complete the registration form by 9:00pm on Sunday 17 August 2025.

Build strong teams for U21 and other international tournaments, including the Junior European Championships and Junior World Cup.

Foster ambition, collaboration, and high standards within the group.
Strengthen the Pathway to Senior Hockey
Provide clear routes to progress toward senior national team involvement.
Promote Balanced Development
Support athletes to succeed both on and off the pitch, in education, career, and life.
