At the start of 2012 Aberdeen Asset Management became the leading partner of Scottish Hockey, marking the largest ever investment into the development and growth of hockey in Scotland.

The objective of the partnership is to benefit all levels of hockey in Scotland, from the grassroots to the elite.

Scottish Hockey and Aberdeen have introduced the ‘Aberdeen Asset Management Women in Coaching Programme’ to promote coaching as a role for women in hockey.  It will include:

  • Identify and develop opportunities for individuals to enrol in coaching courses and further professional development
  • Develop strategies to encourage women coaches to become qualified in leading training sessions.
  • Actively promote women coaching in the adult and performance environments.
  • Provide on-going development opportunities for coaches working within the children and youth environments

Scottish Hockey is hosting six workshops around Scotland in April and May for individuals to share good practice and discuss the current coaching structure and  delivery in clubs and schools.

It will also introduce the ‘Aberdeen Asset Management Women in Coaching Programme’ and provide more information about its aims and objectives.

The intention will be to open applications for the ‘Aberdeen Asset Management Women in Coaching Programme’ in June and selections will be made shortly thereafter.
