Ralph winner gets Clydesdale Western off and running
Milne Craig Clydesdale Western got off to a winning start in the EuroHockey Club Champions Challenge II with a 1-0 win over Austrian side SV Arminen in Prague today.
Scotland international Catriona Ralph was the match winner for the Glasgow side, scoring from the penalty spot in the 20th minute.
Tomorrow, they are up against ASKÖ Hockeyclub Wels of Austria in their second Pool A match at 11.00 CET.
Meanwhile, Grove Menzieshill were narrowly defeated by Irish outfit UCD LHC in the EuroHockey Club Champions Challenge I in Catania this afternoon. The Scottish champions lost 2-1 after being 1-0 up at half-time courtesy of a Louise Carroll penalty corner.
Their next Pool B match is against Belgians Royal Wellington THC at 15.00 CET.
