More Success for the Scotland Under 18 Boys at Euro’s
Scotland Under 18 Boys are celebrating further success after a 3-1 win against the Czech Republic in EuroHockey Championship II, played in Cardiff, Wales. This follows on from Sunday’s exciting 3-3 draw against Wales.
The game started quickly with Scotland’s Robert Croll scoring in the opening seven minutes from a penalty corner. It was a very strong performance by Scotland and they had quite a few opportunities in the first half. The opening goal was followed by a second for Scotland just over 10 minutes later, in the second quarter, and it came through an excellent strike from Captain, Ben Pearson from a penalty corner. This brought the scoreboard to a 2-0 going into half time for the Scotland side.
Two minutes into the half time and Ben Pearson scored his second goal of the match with another penalty corner, putting Scotland into a 3-0 lead against Czech Republic. Just before the final quarter, Czech Republic managed to score their first goal of the game from a penalty corner with Tomas Vodenka scoring a great strike. This was the final goal, with the game ending in a 3-1 win for Scotland Under 18 boys.

Scotland U18 Boys’ Head Coach Andrew Brodgon said, “After the Wales match our focus was very much that each quarter is managed well, one-by-one, and it’s pleasing to see us scoring goals in almost each quarter. It was a strong performance from the boys. It was really professional, I am overall very pleased at the game.
“I am feeling confident for the boys, I am hoping we follow the plan, do their jobs well, and put in a strong performance in tomorrow’s match.”
