Menzieshill and Inverleith still unbeaten
INDOOR NATIONAL LEAGUE – MEN BELL`S SPORTS CENTRE IN PERTH
Grove Menzieshill and Inverleith finished the day neck and neck at the apex of the indoor first division, both recorded comfortable wins, but the former occupy pole position on goal difference.
Inverleith ran out convincing 9-2 winners in the top of the table clash with Glynhill Kelburne, Olympian Graham Moodie demonstrated his indoor skills with a well-taken hat-trick.
Moodie did the damage in the opening seven with a double for Inverleith, Ian Horsfield then pulled one back for the Paisley outfit, but further strikes by Ross Jamieson and Adam McKenzie from a penalty corner in the closing seconds gave the Edinburgh side a comfortable 4-1 lead at the interval. There followed a flow of goals in the second half from Inverleith through Tom Cousins, David Guy, Craig Sinclair, Derek Salmond and Moodie again for his hat-trick. Horsefield notched a late consolation for Kelburne just at the end, but manager Harry Coles admitted that lack of experience was his side`s downfall.
Moodie continued his scoring spree in Inverleith`s 6-1 demolition of Dundee Wanderers in their second match of the day. This time the Olympian scored his hat-trick in the first half along with a strike by Jamieson for a four goal lead. Jamieson scored again after the break, then Moodie notched his fourth from a set piece, Fergus Sandison getting a late consolation for Wanderers with a magnificent shot that went in off the crossbar.
Menzieshill made an impressive start to today`s proceedings with a lethal brand of power play that swept Harris aside by 18-1. Ross McPherson opened the scoring and proceeded to collect another three goals during the game, latest recruit Allan Law also scored four times, while Mike Ross picked up a hat-trick. There were two goals each for Ross Stott and Chris Wilson as well as single strikes from Gavin Byers, Sam Tilston and Craig Falconer.

The goals continued in the second half through Byers, Falconer, Stott and Wilson for his hat-trick. Grange were more in the contest after the break and pulled back three through Fraser Sands, Duncan Riddell and Cammie Fraser.
Western Wildcats came off the bottom of the table with a 7-3 win over a youthful Grange outfit. Joe Simpson opened for the Wildcats but were pegged back when Cammie Fraser equalised in 15 minutes. However, the Wildcats had their noses in front by the interval with a double strike by Douglas Simpson for 3-1. Western had the game sewn up half way through the second half with a quick-fire double from Scott McCartney and another from Simpson for his hat-trick to make it 6-1. Grange mounted a mini-revival towards the end of the game with goals from Fraser again and a penalty corner by Fraser Sands, but the Wildcats still had the final say when Rhury Smith notched a last minute strike for a 7-3 scoreline.
Wildcats continued their recovery when they gave six of the best to Harris without reply in their second game. Western were four up at the interval with strikes by Rhury Smith, Douglas Simpson, Scott McCartney and Joe McConnell.
Wanderers picked up another three points in their first outing against PSL Team Sport Clydesdale. The Dundonians were three ahead at the interval, a double from Fergus Sandison and the opener by Ross Davies did the damage. The second half ended even, Elliot Sandison made it four for Wanderers and towards the end Ciaran Crawford scored a consolation for Clydesdale.
Five goals from Jonny Christie restored some of Kelburne`s composure in their second match in a 8-3 win over Clydesdale. Teenager Jack McAllister notched a couple and Willie Marshall got the other.
Meanwhile, Grange slipped down the table with back to back reversals against Western Wildcats and then Menzieshill.
