Men’s o70’s masters squad named to play in Celtic Cup

The first tournament to be hosted by the newly formed Scottish Masters Hockey will be the Celtic Cup for men’s over 60, over 65 and over 70 teams this April 2022.

This popular, annual competition goes back to 2008 in Aberdeen when Scotland took on Wales. This year it will be played over Easter Weekend 15th-17th April, at Robert Gordon’s College Playing Fields, the tournament brings together players, officials and spectators from the four Celtic nations of France, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

As well as the prospect of some excellent hockey, those attending will be able to enjoy visiting the granite city of Aberdeen and take part in a Civic Reception and tournament dinner held in the famous Beach Ballroom.

Scotland has been fielding an over 70’s team for several years now and already they have been involved in numerous international tournaments including the World Cup, European Cup, Four Nations Tournament and Celtic Cup. In 2021 the over 70’s Scottish Masters Team were runners up in the Celtic Cup tournament in Belfast. Hopefully this year they can do one better and win the tournament. If you are interested in joining any of the Masters teams full details can be found on the Scottish Masters Hockey Website (https://scottishmastershockey.org/).
