Kidd`s hat-trick on debut for Edinburgh University
ABERDEEN ASSET MANAGEMENT NATIONAL LEAGUE –
WOMEN
Nikki Kidd had a dream debut for Edinburgh University,
she notched a hat-trick in the student`s six goal victory over
Glynhill Kelburne in their opening game of the season in the
Aberdeen Asset Management national league at
Peffermill. The other goals emanated from a double by
Scotland striker Sam Judge and Sarah Robertson.
Grove Menzieshill started off the defence of their title with an
impressive 9-0 win over newcomers Inverleith on
Tayside. The champions were three up at the interval,
Ailsa Wyllie started the scoring while Sarah Jamieson and Karin
Belch added two more by the interval. The second half
was a procession of goals, Jamieson completed her hat-trick with a
further two strikes, Linda Clement got a double, while Ali Bell and
Louise Carroll finished the scoring.
Milne Craig Western`s 7-0 victory over Wildcats at Titwood was
also a fairly conclusive affair with a hat-trick coming from
Scotland striker Holly Cram. It was the
internationalist who opened Western`s account when she found the
target following a cross from the right by Ali
Howie. Catriona Ralph made it two with a direct
strike at the penalty corner, and the third was a carbon copy of
the first with Cram again putting the finish touch.
The goals continued after the interval, Anna-Mae Morton scored
from close in following a pass from Cram at another penalty corner,
then Cram herself made it 5-0 from close range for her
hat-trick. Nicola Pitticas latched on to a rebound off the
Wildcats` keeper for the sixth and the scoring was completed by
another direct strike by Ralph at a set piece.
Dundee Wanderers saw off CALA Edinburgh 5-1 with goals coming
from the Bunce sisters Ashley and Vikki, Amanda Maxwell, Jude
McMullen and Amy Rowan.
Giffnock completed the round of predictable results with four
goals at home against Grange, Elaine Brierley, Suzie Blake, Cath
Stirling and Kareena Marshall were on target.
