Inverleith return to indoor action in Europe
Inverleith Hockey Club return to the European indoor hockey scene for the first time in three years this weekend when the capital outfit compete in the EuroHockey Indoor Club Trophy in Lyngby, Denmark.
Taking place from 13-15 February, Head Coach Stuart Neave and his newly crowned National Indoor League Division 1 champions face a testing challenge from HC Valenciennes (FRA), SC Strotel Brest (BLR) and WKS Grunwald Poznan (POL) in Pool B.

Hosts Orient Lyngby (DEN), Olimpiia Kolos-Sekvoya Vinnitsa (UKR), HAHK Mladost (CRO), and HC Bohemians Prague (CZE) make up the competition’s Pool A contenders.
The top two teams from each pool will qualify for the promotion stage to determine the winners and promotion to the Club Cup competition next year, while the bottom four teams will play cross-overs to determine who will be relegated from the competition to the Club Challenge I.
The Purple Robes’ previous participation in the European club competitions came in 2012, when they hosted the Club Trophy in Edinburgh, finishing a credible third behind Lille MHC and Racing Club de Bruxelles.
They will be aiming to take it to the next level on Danish soil this weekend and target that promotion place to the Club Cup in 2016.
