Inter-District Girls Information
The U16 and U18 girls will battle it out this weekend at the Inter-District competitions at the National Hockey Centre in Glasgow this weekend (1-2 October). The tournament will get underway at 11.15 am on Saturday and 9am on Sunday.
There will be two days of excellent youth hockey as the youth international coaches and managers get together to select the squads for the Scotland U16 and U18 performance programmes.
Teams from seven districts will take part over the weekend – East; North; West; Midlands; Highland; South; South West and a joint squad to take the number of teams to eight, MidWestEast.
Last year’s competition saw East District crowned as the outright winners of the U18 competition after an excellent five wins from five matches, scoring 21 goals in the process.
In last year’s U16 Girls Inter-District event, it was Midland who narrowly claimed the winners’ trophy courtesy of a 1-0 win over the West.
A great weekend of youth hockey awaits so come along to support your friends or family members.
