High School of Glasgow and George Heriots reach Quilter Cheviot Scottish Schools Cup Final
George Heriot’s and High School of Glasgow will contest the final of the Quilter Cheviot Scottish Schools Girls Open Cup on Friday 13 March at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre.
An excellent day’s hockey at today’s open girls competition witnessed eight teams battling it out across two pools to qualify for this afternoon’s semi finals.
Strathallan School and George Heriots finished winners and runners-up in Pool A after a round robin, while George Watson’s College and High School of Glasgow were the top two in Pool B.
In the first semi-final, a goalless contest between Edinburgh rivals George Watson’s College and George Heriot’s went to penalties, with the latter winning 3-1 in an intense finale.
The second semi-final also ended in a similar fashion with High School of Glasgow defeating Strathallan School 2-0 on penalties after the match finished 1-1 in regulation time.
