Grove Menziehill confirm their place at the top
Weekend Round-Up
Aberdeen Asset Management Women’s National League Division 1
Milne Craig Clydesdale Western defeated Dundee Wanderers 5-2 courtesy of a Holly Cram hat-trick, while Anna Mae Morton and Jenny Eadie also added to the score sheet. Wanderers responded with two late goals but it wasn’t enough to see off the undefeated side.
Grove Menziehill cemented their position at top of the table this weekend with a 6-2 away win against CALA Edinburgh.
Western Wildcats got their first win of the season against Grange EL which sees them off the bottom on the table. The Auchenhowie side came back from 1-0 down at half time to bounce back and record a 3-1 win, goals coming from Catriona Booth, Kaz Marshall and Anna Vardy.
Struggling Watsonians put in a good fight at home to mid table GHK but the Glaswegians got the better of them and won 3-2 to move up the table to fifth.
Edinburgh University kept their 100% record with a 4-0 win over Kelburne, who drop to sixth.
Aberdeen Asset Management Women’s National League Division 2
AAM Merlins Gordonians did just about enough to keep up their 100% record with a 1-0 win against Erskine Stewart’s Melville.
It did not fare well for the university teams this weekend with Glasgow University losing away to Inverleith 5-1 while University of Dundee lost 3-1 away to Granite City Wanderers.
Borders Fjordhus Reivers move up to fourth in the table after securing a 3-1 win against Haddington.
Aberdeen Asset Management Women’s National League Division 3
The university teams got their season campaign underway this weekend with ADTI Aberdeen University having a close match against local rivals Aberdeen, losing 2-1 but redeeming themselves the following day with a 2-2 draw against Stirling University. The central student based team then drew 1-1 with Waverley Inveresk Trinity.
Women’s Championship League West Division
Milne Craig Clydesdale Western II knocked Glasgow Accies off the top spot this weekend with a 7-0 win over Stirling wanderers and beating Accies 2-1 on Sunday. Glasgow Accies won 8-1 against Kelburne II.
East Division
Grove Menzieshill A move up to second position in the division after a double header weekend, drawing with Watsonians A 1-1 then drawing again with Grange EL II 1-1. Grange II played the following day and drew with Edinburgh University III. Edinburgh University II won 3-2 against rivals CALA Edinburgh II.
