Gordonians move out bottom two with vital win

In Men’s Aberdeen Asset Management National League Division 1, AAM Gordonians moved out of the bottom two with a crucial 2-0 home win over AMN Hillhead today. The Aberdonians are three points clear of today’s opponents and appear to have hit form at a significant point in the season.
Mathematically, Watsonians can still avoid relegation to Division 2 but their survival hopes took a severe blow when they lost 3-2 to Edinburgh University. Only significant wins against relegation rivals AAM Gordonians and AMN Hillhead next weekend could save them.
Grange moved to the top of the league with a 3-0 win away to PSL Team Sport Clydesdale. The Edinburgh side now sit a point ahead of Glynhill Hotel Kelburne, having played two games more, and will be hoping the other sides in the top half of the table can do them a favour by taking points off the defending champions before the top two meet at Peffermill next Sunday.
Grove Menzieshill are also in the hunt as they moved within three points of second place with a 4-3 win against Western Wildcats at Auchenhowie.
