East and West crowned Inter-district champions
East and West were claimed champions in this weekend’s Girls Inter-District tournament in U18 and U16 at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre.
Following two days of excellent youth hockey at the new venue, the youth international coaches and managers will get together to select the squads for the Scotland U16 and U18 performance programmes.
In the U18 category East were declared winners with a match to go but it wasn’t easy against the Midlands but the East triumphed and proved why they were crowned champs with a 2-0 win.
The U16 girls was left down to the last match, East versus West, it was end to end play but the West took their chances and won 2-0 to claim overall victory.
Congratulations to all the players, coaches, officials, volunteers and staff for making it an enjoyable and excellent weekend for all who participated.
The next event Scottish Hockey are putting on will be the Big Weekend ‘Awesome October’ on the 19th and 20th of October where we see an array of men’s and women’s top flight National league teams battle it out at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre.
