Dundee Wanderers win Division 2 title
Dundee Wanderers are the winners of the Men’s Aberdeen Asset Management National League Division 2 title after a vital 5-2 over Aberdeen GSFP today.
Meanwhile, McWhinney Uddingston closed the gap on second place Falkirk GHG to four points after a 5-2 success away to St. Andrew’s University and their promotion play-off rivals slipping to a 4-2 defeat at Alpha Data Carnegie.
Should the Lanarkshire side win away to Aberdeen GSFP tomorrow, they will be within a point of Falkirk GHG with a game in hand. Alpha Data Carnegie’s win propels them out of the relegation zone for now.
Granite City Wanderers moved up to sixth with a 7-2 win over relegated Highland.
Congratulations to Erskine Stewart’s Melville who are champions of Men’s Aberdeen Asset Management National League Division 3 after their 6-3 win over Harris Academy today gave them an unassailable lead at the top of the division.
FMGM Monarchs took full advantage of their local rivals’ defeat with a 3-2 win away to Aberdeen University.
Monarchs are now three points clear in second place with a game in hand and look favourites at this stage to be joining Division 2 next season.
Elsewhere, Ayr consolidated their league position in fourth after an 8-4 victory over Perthshire.
In the bottom half of the table, Chapman Motherwell beat Stirling University 4-2, while Strathclyde University and 2020 Renewables Greenock shared the spoils after a 1-1 draw.
