Clarification for Playing Above the Shoulder – District and Youth Level competitions

 

Scottish Hockey’s Management Committee today confirmed that adoption of the FIH regulation for Playing the Ball Above the Shoulder has been sanctioned for Men’s and Women’s National League and Scottish Cup/Plate competitions only.
Following a number of enquiries, the governing body can also confirm that Regional League, Championship League, District League and Youth level competitions have not been sanctioned to adopt this regulation.

Scottish Hockey’s Management Committee today confirmed that adoption of the FIH regulation for Playing the Ball Above the Shoulder has been sanctioned by the International Hockey Federation for the following competitions only

 

  • Men’s and Women’s National Leagues
  • Men’s and Women’s Scottish Cup/Plate
  • Men’s Regional League
  • Women’s Championship League

 

Following a number of enquiries, the governing body also strongly advises that this regulation is not sanctioned to be played at all other levels, including District Leagues and Youth competitions.
